Client Fund Segregation
All client funds are held in segregated accounts with top-tier European Banks, totally separate from any of the AMP Global operational accounts. Such ensures that not only your personal investment funds are free from any actions taken against our company in any eventuality but also 100% liquidity of the funds, making them readily available on the same day value at all times. Furthermore, unique clients funds can be identified via a personally identifiable marker making it possible to distinguish assets held for one client from assets held for any other client (and from its own assets) in accordance with the requirements of the Directive DI144-2007-01.
We maintain strict policies and protocols to safeguard all client funds deposited at AMP Global. Furthermore, all activities of AMP Global are monitored and reviewed by Auditors from time to time to prevent the use of client's money by the firm at all times.
Investor Compensation Fund:
The Republic of Cyprus is a European Union member state, which means that all investment companies licensed in Cyprus fully comply with the EU MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) regulations that apply to all countries of the European Economic Zone.
The main aim of this law is to increase competition in the investment sector and protect the interests of the investment company clients. According to the MiFID regulations, investment companies should also become members of the Investor's Compensation Fund, which ensures that the client interests are protected in the case of company insolvency.
AMP Global is a member of the Investor Compensation Fund set up by the Central Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission for all clients of Cypriot Investment Firms. The purpose of the Investor Compensation Fund is to secure the claims of all covered clients (in this case retail), through the payment of compensation where the investment firm is unable to:
- Return client funds owed to them or funds which are held, directly or indirectly, in the context of providing investment services, or
- To hand over to covered clients' financial instruments which belong to them which the investment firm holds, manages or keeps on their account.
Membership of the ICF provides AMP Global clients with an extra measure of insurance for their funds in the event that AMP Global is unable to compensate its clients for a claim.
The ICF does not cover Institutional or Professional investors but only retail Clients of AMP Global.
Under the Rules and Regulations of the ICF, the total payable compensation to each covered Client may not exceed €20.000, irrespective of the number of accounts held, currency and place of offering the investment service.
